Let Your Business Blog Show Off Your Mobility Posted: 10 Sep 2013 12:54 PM PDT
Unfortunately, some who run small businesses fail to realize the importance of marketing their products and/or services until it is too late. In those cases, they very likely may have lost out on sales, solid PR, and the ability to grow their businesses. While there are a number of ways for the small business owner to promote his or her business, a blog is a great start. Whether the small business owner writes the blog entries him or herself or has someone do it for them, the blog serves as a great promotional tool for several reasons, including: 1. Alerting current and potential customers – Whether you are promoting the fact that you now offer the latest in mobile technology or the fact that you are running a number of promotions, blogging is a great way to spread the word. If your blog is available to consumers via smartphones and apps, all the better; 2. Setting the record straight – As many small business owners know, sometimes the record has to be set straight. Whether it is a disgruntled customer, an unhappy current or former employee or a competitor trying to stick it to you, sometimes the public doesn't get the right impression when they hear about you and/or your business. Having a blog posting to set the record straight is a great way to let the public hear your side of the story; 3. Public forum – Your small business blog can also serve as a public forum for both current and potential customers. If you're not on social media, your business blog becomes all the more important, allowing consumers to discuss your products/services, what they like and don't like, and share their opinions with others. If you're a business owner involved in technology products like movies, music or cameras, you can use your blog to bring readers up to date on things like sound technology or range and focus. By letting people comment on your blog (remember by all means to moderate the comments so that people do not take shots at you, your company, or others), you open up a discussion that can be very valuable to you as a business owner; 4. Being seen as an expert – Finally, having and promoting your small business blog allows you to come across as an authority in your respective industry. Many who run small companies can claim to be authorities in their respective lines of work, but are many of them truly just that? Use your blog to lay out the evidence as to why customers can trust you and your products or services, why you are better than the competition, and why your customer service is second to none. Given how difficult it can be to run a small business in today's world, blogging is a great way to promote your brand, all the while keeping your name out there for more to discover. |
